Le tappe previste nell’itinerario sono: San Gimignano, Colle di Val d’Elsa, Monteriggioni, Siena, San Quirico d’Orcia, Pienza, Montepulciano e infine Radicofani.

L’itinerario è stato pensato per tutti, soprattutto coppie che desiderano un’esperienza indimenticabile nel cuore della Toscana e rilassarsi scoprendo i sapori e i luoghi di questo territorio.

Percorribile tutto l’anno, in particolare si consigliano i mesi da marzo ad ottobre per ammirare al meglio gli incredibili paesaggi che i borghi offrono.

SAPORI DEL TERRITORIO

Territorio carico di cultura enogastronomica, seguendo l’itinerario è infatti possibile scoprire il Chianti DOCG e Vernaccia di San Gimignano, accompagnati dal Pecorino Toscano DOP, diversi insaccati e salumi come la soppressa. Tra i piatti tradizionali si possono assaggiare i Pici o le Pappardelle al cinghiale, oppure la carne Chianina. I dolci tipici sono il Panforte, Panpepato e i Ricciarelli di Siena. Tra i vini più rinomati ci sono il Brunello di Montalcino DOCG e il Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG.

DOVE

Dalla superstrada Firenze – Siena, con uscita a Poggibonsi Nord, si raggiunge San Gimignano, la prima tappa di questo suggestivo itinerario. San Gimignano è un antico borgo fortificato in provincia di Siena dichiarato Patrimonio dell’Umanità, amato sia dai locali che dai turisti per le sue caratteristiche torri. Si prosegue poi con Colle di Val d’Elsa, essa possiede anche un borgo medievale che offre una splendida vista della Toscana ed è conosciuta per la sua produzione di cristallo. Si continua l’itinerario in un susseguirsi di paesaggi incantevoli tra i colli senesi fino a Monteriggioni, arroccata su un colle e circondata dalle alte, rimasta pressoché invariata nei secoli.

Si giunge poi nel capoluogo di provincia, Siena, ricca di storia e arte ma anche di negozi, trattorie e ristoranti in cui gustare piatti e prodotti tipici. La tappa successiva è San Quirico d’Orcia, affascinante borgo dichiarato anch’esso Patrimonio dell’Umanità, da qui è facilmente raggiungibile Pienza, dove gustare un bicchiere di Montalcino o Montepulciano con vista sulle colline senesi. Si raggiunge poi Montepulciano, altro imperdibile borgo da visitare e soprattutto di cui scoprire i sapori. infine l’itinerario conclude con Radicofani, scenografica fortezza che da millenni domina la valle dalla sua rupe, da cui ammirare panorami mozzafiato.
